L&M Baseball Alumni Selected in MLB Draft
L&M Baseball Alumni Chris Wright and C.J. Dandeneau were selected in the 2019 MLB Draft, the first time in program history that alumni were selected by an MLB team.
Wright, a Junior 1B/LHP out of Bryant University, was selected in the 12th round (356th overall) by the San Francisco Giants. A three-year starter at Bryant, Wright was a semi-finalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award and earned All-America honors, being named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Third Team.
Dandeneau, a Redshirt Senior RHP out of the University of Connecticut, was selected in the 37th Round (1114th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dandeneau has a great season out of the bullpen for the Huskies, recording a 2.52 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 50 innings. He finished his career tied for second in UConn history with 87 career appearances.
L&M Baseball would like to congratulate Chris and CJ as they embark on their professional careers!
